This program has taught me to stop, breathe, and feel calm, maybe for the first time ever.
I’ve always been anxious and always had something in the background to deal with. This program has taught me to stop, breathe, and feel calm, maybe for the first time ever.
Learning to just sit and be okay with stillness has been a game-changer. I don’t feel the same pressure to keep busy all the time.

From Stress and Anxiety to Resilience and Calm
How One Man Reclaimed His Calm: From Overwhelmed to Resilient
Client Background:
Ian is a professional based in the UK, working in a demanding environment that requires a high degree of organization and mental focus. For much of his life, Ian struggled with underlying anxiety, which he managed by staying busy. However, in September, following a significant deadline for his book, Ian’s stress escalated into migraines, eye floaters, and chronic tension. These symptoms became a persistent challenge, compounded by years of unresolved stress and anxiety.
Before starting the program, Ian described feeling always on edge, with physical symptoms such as head pressure, dizziness, and bloating exacerbating his mental strain. Despite being generally healthy, he found himself caught in a loop of physical discomfort and anxious thoughts.
Goals
Ian’s primary goals were to:
- Reduce the frequency and severity of migraines.
- Develop tools to manage stress and anxiety effectively.
- Rebuild a sense of calm and control in his daily life.
- Improve overall well-being and resilience to stress.

Challenges
- Long-standing patterns of anxiety, described as a need to always stay busy.
- Chronic physical symptoms like migraines, eye floaters, and bloating.
- A tendency to overthink and fixate on symptoms, feeding a cycle of stress.
- Difficulty transitioning from reactive to proactive stress management.

Journey to Resilience and Calm
Transformation Timeline:
Ian’s initial assessment revealed heightened stress and a nervous system in overdrive, as shown by his breathing and stress assessments. He began to notice how stress influenced his breathing, tension, and physical symptoms, such as migraines and bloating. We introduced deep rest and breathing exercises to create a sense of control.
Ian’s Reflection:
“I never realized how much my breathing affected my stress. Starting with awareness was eye-opening.”
Ian experienced his first tangible improvements: reduced bloating and a general sense of calm during breathing exercises. Daily deep rest sessions became a cornerstone of his routine, offering moments of deep relaxation amidst daily stressors. His breathing improved, as Ian’s rate of air hunger during breathing sessions dropped significantly.
Ian’s Reflection:
“I felt like I was finally gaining some control over my stress, rather than it controlling me.”
Mind-body exercises helped Ian build a healthier relationship with his symptoms, teaching him to observe rather than react. Radical acceptance became a focus, enabling Ian to befriend physical sensations like migraines and tension rather than resisting them. Stress resilience practice and advanced breathing exercises challenged Ian to push his limits in a controlled, safe way, increasing his resilience.
Ian’s Reflection:
“I started to realize that my migraines weren’t something to fear anymore—they were just sensations, and I could manage them.”
Ian’s improved self-awareness allowed him to anticipate and manage stress before it escalated into physical symptoms. Deep rest and breathing exerciess became daily rituals, easing tension and reinforcing a sense of calm. By the end of the program, Ian reported a 64% reduction in perceived stress and felt confident in his ability to maintain his progress independently.
Ian’s Reflection:
“This program gave me the tools to calm my mind and body. It’s a skillset I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life.”
Ian’s Testimonial
I got my first migraine back at the beginning of September, but I didn’t know it was a migraine until the beginning of October, and didn’t start meds for it until the end of October (amitriptyline, 10mg – now 20mg). Health-wise, those two months were likely the worst of my life: I was light headed, suffered sensitively to bright lights, was dizzy, nauseous, had intense brain fog, and could not look at a digital device or television for more than half an hour without causing an intense episode. I was off work for three weeks, and was worried I would never be able to go back it was so difficult to manage day-by-day.
Even before I started meds, I was looking for ways to fix the problem – that was when I came across a post by Daniel Mori, a Breathing Specialist, on Reddit about how breathing is the cornerstone of a healthy body and mind, not something I had ever considered before. Daniel offered me a consultation, and over 45 minutes he described to me how he had suffered the same symptoms I had suffered (plus others), but for over several years, and how eventually he overcame them by researching and focusing on proper breathing techniques.
I have worked with Daniel now for two months, and to say that the techniques have been transformative is not an understatement. The meds got me out of the house and back to work, and they suppressed (most of) symptoms, but didn’t challenge the problem itself – that being a long standing, embedded anxiety and stress that has dogged me my entire life. Daniel has shown me how to overcome these symptoms through, first and foremost, breathing – which sounds like a simple process, but it is so difficult to identify and manage, I never would have been able to accomplish it by myself.
It is not just breathing, though, as the sessions have also taken on a more conventional therapeutic nature – I never realised how negative my thoughts were all the time until Daniel pointed it out, and I’m even writing poetry again because he made me focus on taking time out of my day to do the things I want to do (I have always struggled with “time”).
I was skeptical at first of working with a breathing specialist, because the concept of being taught how to breathe properly sounded, in a word, strange. But I cannot recommend Daniel highly enough.
